Happy San Diego Comic Con!
(slow clap here)
If you're like me, there's no chance that you're going to San Diego this week for a multitude of reasons. But that doesn't mean we can't have just as much fun as they are at the Con, right? Guys? Anyone? While we can't be there physically, dozens and dozens of quality media outlets will be broadcasting coverage and keeping round-the-clock updates on what's going on, who's making the big announcements and what we can expect next from our comics, literature, games, and movies & television. IGN, Geek and Sundry, The Nerdist, Nerd Machine, and ComicBookMovies.Com and other classy sources that will have a presence at San Diego and you can guarantee they'll be doling out the news and interest as it becomes available. Keep an eye out for news releases and live streaming broadcasts from these sources as well as your favorite comic book, movie, television, game, cosplay and related companies.
In lighter news, Captain America is a brittle, old fart and The Might Thor will soon be shopping jeggings. In recent events, both in the comics and in the company, it has been announced that there will be a changing of the guard in two of Marvels big name characters. The result of a fight against a powerful enemy (no shocker there), Steve Rogers A.K.A. Captain America has been stripped of the Super Soldier formula that gave him his abilities and his youthful good looks and immediate ages to that of a man who fought during World War II. It was announced that a new Captain would take the reigns and Old Man Rogers would serve him (or her) in an advisory capacity. It's been made official as I was typing this post that the new Cap will be none other than fellow superhero and occasional partner Sam "The Falc Wilson.

Meanwhile back at Asgard, the God of Thunder is in a quandary. The man we know as Thor has fell out of the good graces of his trusty hammer, Mjolnir, and is no longer worthy to wield it. In a twist that will either delight or irk the fans, it was announced on The View no less that the mantle and the hammer of Thor would be passed on to a woman. This would be the first time in the mainstream Marvel universe that Thor would be a female. Few details have been released about where this new character will go or what has happened to the previous Thor. The only info out is a picture of the old hero wielding another Asgardian weapon, the battle axe Jarnbjorn. Things will unfold this fall with the release of a new Thor title.
Stay tuned True believers.
