And we're baaaaaack!!!!

It's been many months since I've posted on this blog and you will have to forgive me; two jobs and a new little Padawan keep a guy busy.  Here's what's been going on since we last spoke.

Wars VS Trek has gotten more interesting.

The Notorious GL (George Lucas for the layperson) sold Lucasfilm and all of its subsidiaries to Disney.  A new trifecta of goodness to the SW universe is in the works; J.J. Abrams is set to direct and produce WHILE juggling the Star Trek franchise (Shatner had something to say about that*) and the holy trinity of Hamill, Fisher and Ford are locked in.

Marvel movie melee.

The Marvel movie universe hurtles mightily on with a summer 2013 release for Iron Man 3, a November 2013 release for Thor 2, a Spring 2014 release for Captain America 2 and a late summer 2014 release for their newest venture, Guardians of the Galaxy.  All of this is leading up to the highly anticipated Avengers 2, to be released in Summer 2015.  There are no plans for a stand alone Hulk movie before the then**.  Sorry, Hulkamaniacs.  No Big Green til 2015.

Felicia Day is our Oprah; Wil Wheaton is our _________ (fill in the blank).

Geek and Sundry, the YouTube venture to expand into original online entertainment, employs geek and gaming greats like Felicia Day, Veronica Belmont, and THE Wil Wheaton to take their passions for sci-fi, gaming and the like and turn them into original programming.  Wil Wheaton gets to spend 40 minutes a week playing Fluxx with an interesting assortment of people and gets paid to do it.  Wil, buddy! I'm not doing anything right now and my phone line's always open.

Back to the beginning...again?

Speaking of Marvel comics, the publishing monster has been showing signs they plan to cleanse the palate, if you will, of all of their titles and start at the beginning***, (a la DC New 52 campaign of 2011).  No detailed information has yet come to light about this but we'll stay on top of it.  Will we see a return of the Gray Hulk?

Tomb Raider returns and she's still got it.

Amid the controversy of a very unpleasant back story****, Lara Croft has been reborn to the gaming world with the March 5, 2013 release of Tomb Raider, the first sighting of virtual Jolie (j/k) in almost five years.  It has been received with critical acclaim and over a million copies sold in the first 48 hours.  This will hopefully pave the way for a reboot of the movie franchise; I say Katie Cassidy for Croft as she is kick all kinds of ass on Arrow.  That is, if she can pull of the accent.

I will put forth my best efforts to be timely and interesting with the updates here.  Keep an eye out for new content and media and as always, thanks for stopping by.
